2024 Annual Enrollment

Annual Enrollment for 2024 is now closed. Please be sure to upload any required benefits documentation no later than Jan. 31, 2024.

  • If you added a dependent to your benefit plan, you will need to upload proof of eligibility such as a birth or marriage certificate.
  • If you are a full-time employee waiving coverage in 2024, you will need to upload proof of other coverage; otherwise, you will be enrolled in Employee Only coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan.
  • See detailed guidance on acceptable forms of documentation and how to upload documentation.

You can upload documents by logging in to VandalWeb and selecting Employees > myBenefits > View/Upload Required Documentation.

Enrollment Reminders

If you work full time and do not enroll during Annual Enrollment, most 2023 elections will roll over to 2024 at 2024 contribution rates. Your elections for contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Dependent Care Spending Account (DSCA) will not roll over to 2024.

Waiving Coverage: If you’ll have medical and prescription drug coverage elsewhere for 2024 (for example, through a parent’s or spouse’s medical plan), you can waive university-sponsored coverage during Annual Enrollment. Proof of other coverage is required every year. Please upload proof of other coverage to VandalWeb > Employees > myBenefits > View/Upload Required Documentation by Jan. 31, 2024. If you don’t provide proof of other coverage, you’ll automatically be enrolled in Employee Only coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan. You will not be able to change coverage until you experience a qualified life event or until Annual Enrollment for 2025.

Spending Accounts: To contribute to an HSA, FSA or DCSA in 2024, you must enroll by the deadline. Even if you have an account this year, your contribution elections will not roll over. Note that the contribution amount you enter during Annual Enrollment is your annual contribution, not the contribution per pay period. The myBenefits system will automatically adjust to reflect your per pay amount.

How To Enroll: To enroll, re-enroll, change or waive coverage, log in to VandalWeb > Employees > myBenefits. Complete Annual Enrollment and upload any required documentation noted when you finalize the event. Access a tip sheet for assistance in uploading the required documentation and a list of acceptable documentation.

If you work less than full-time, you must re-enroll in order to have coverage in 2024. The benefit elections you made in 2023 will not roll over.

Waiving Coverage: If you wish to waive coverage, proof of other coverage is not required. By default, you will be placed into waived coverage if you do not make a benefit election. You can't enroll your dependents or make coverage changes until the next Annual Enrollment unless you have a qualifying event.

If you are a temporary employee who is not eligible for the standard benefit plan but does meet the eligibility requirements for coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), you may enroll in a university medical plan at full plan cost (not subsidized by the university). Under the ACA, only you and your eligible children can be covered; not your spouse or any other eligible adult.

Get additional information on eligibility and view the ACA Non Subsidized Employee Contributions

Please note that employees must be on a university medical plan at the time of retirement in order to transition to the University of Idaho Retiree Health Plan. If you anticipate retiring in 2024 and joining the Retiree Health Plan, you should enroll in university medical coverage for 2024.

Please contact benefits@ngskmc-eis.net with questions.

If you and your spouse are both benefit-eligible university employees, you, your spouse and your eligible children cannot be double-covered. You and your spouse may each elect your own coverage or one of you may waive coverage to be on the other's plan.

To waive coverage, complete the Annual Enrollment event by logging in to VandalWeb > Employees > myBenefits and selecting waived coverage.
